There are now 28 days remaining until I leave for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia! I thought I would get my blog started that I will use when I am volunteering to keep my family and friends updated. This is my first blog ever so I am not really sure how it works! I am sure once I begin volunteering I will have many stories of my experiences in the orphanage to share with you. As of May 1st, I will try and update with my day to day experiences with the children and what it is like in Ethiopia! I am getting very excited to go!
Fundraising is going amazingly well! I have approximately 6 big boxes of children's English books and around $1000. Thanks to everyone who made a donation, it is extremely thoughtful, and I am sure the children will be so grateful. It warms my heart to know my friends and family want to make a difference in the lives of children who are less fortunate than us. I am now in the process of figuring out what the best way to ship/bring all those books over to the orphanage! If anyone knows any inexpensive/efficient ways please let me know!! :) Also, if anyone else has a donation they would like me to pick up, please message me and I will make time to come by.
